Blue River Part 2

Headed up to Blue River mid April with Scotty. Marcus hooked us up with a 15 minute heli flight for an overnight trip. The cloud level was very low, so we could not fly into Plan A location, we were dropped off at Plan B which was at the top of one of their runs. Dropped off at 8:00 am, chopper back the next day at 5:00 pm. Some of the most amazing days of my life, touring slopes that very few ever have. The clouds broke after a few hours, greeted with sunshine which showed off the views..and enabled us to get up high. Being with Marcus, we toured hard for 7 hours each day. What a backdrop for our tents!!

Blue River B.C

Our good friend Marcus works at Mike Wiegele Heli Ski up in Blue River B.C. I had the opportunity to visit him twice this winter. Blue River sits in a snow belt like no other. In town, there were 12 foot walls of snow along the roads. Coming from bare roads in Banff, this was a welcome surprise. Our days consisted our touring with his sleds in the local area..no heli unfortunately. Big pow either way though.

Rogers Pass Touring

Pictures described the moments we experienced

Early Season Ski

The Eastern Rockies experienced a very sketchy snow pack throughout the entire season, mostly due to a rain crust in November. Slides occured all season all the way to the ground. Rogers Pass was a different story as far as a stable snow pack. We had some of the most epic turns of our lives..starting November 27th!!

CMH - Bugaboos

Thanx to my fiance being the Lodge Manager at CMH's Bugaboo Lodge, I was able to spend 1 week up there as a guest. I did do my share of work around the lodge, that was the least I could do considering I did get 4 days of heli in. Just flying around shotgun in the chopper was the highlight for me, skiing was a bonus. What a week!!

Hawaii 2007

A 2 week trip to visit friends Marc and Shai at their house on the Big Island. Beautiful days spent lounging eating fruit, seafood and cheap booze. Oh ya, I proposed to Marnie on an outcropping overlooking the ocean, can't believe she said yes. As well one of the most amazing rounds of golf of my life. Thanx for the hospitality guys.

New to Blogging world

As one of the last people in the world not on Facebook, I thought I would start a blog. It's order will be all over the place as I wish to include pics from the past year or so.
