Was 'Bestman' for Marc at his wedding this past weekend in Whitefish, Montana.

Dropped the boys off with my parents in Fairmont so Marnie and I were having our first extended time spent away from kids. Good times overall, met a tonne of fun people from all over the U.S.

Tad different prices than Banff

Lake Mcdonald, Glacier Park

Red Bus Tour afterwards, road and pass in background. People from S.Dakota & Minnesota were blown away with the scenery.

Great to see fellow sponsored athlete - http://www.bestofbanff.com/community/athletes.html  - http://twitter.com/ski_dash at the office yesterday following up with sponsorship and confirming her 'local's guide' we are putting on the buses shortly.

Was chatting about her training with http://twitter.com/b2ten all summer, hardest workouts of her life she said. Would be amazing to have access to that kind of coaching.

Cannot wait to see her perform this winter, 2014 Soichi as the main goal.

Biked with the boys out to Johnston Lake yesterday afternoon, what a beauty day. Nice to escape the crowds in Banff for the Fondo, just madness in town.

Can't complain with the scenery

Surprisingly, Toronto is growing on me. Every morning stepping out of the hotel it is hard not to become entrenched in the vibe and action of the city.

Big fan of Steam Whistle

Lucky guy the last two days. Followed up yesterday's ride with an equally classic today with Keith, off to Moraine Lake then his stupid decision to go up Norquay upon returning to Banff which we did...359km's in 2 days.    http://bow80.com/ is approaching quickly.

A ride for the books today. Solo Banff to Bow Summit and back, 196km of the most spectacular views in the world.

Thursday, August 16, 2012

Jack and Christie took the boys to Little Bow this morning, Marnie will be joining them on Saturday as well.

So we took advantage of an empty house and headed out for a mountain bike ride after work around Tunnel Mtn. Both were little kids out there giggling away having so much fun.

Played my first round of golf of the year this morning with the bosses of work. Slight fog when teeing off which burnt off after several holes providing exceptional views.

Shot a 77 which ticked them off considering how much they golf and my lack of playing....sure do miss golf

Afterwards, picked the boys up from the sitter where we headed to Cascade ponds for a dip in in the water and play with friends.

Evening date with just Seth and Dad at the Elk. What a solid day!

Another special day with the boys. Out on the bike pulling them out to Johnston Lake for the afternoon....does not get better than the last few days....lucky dad.

Another beauty day today, solid few week stretch of blue sky hot weather.

Pulled the boys in the Chariot to Quarry Lake in Canmore for the day. The boys loved the sandy beach and shallow water, plenty of local families out enjoying the weather.

Hard to beat this view

A massive house fire occurred yesterday afternoon at Little Bow. Marnie said they were all relaxing at the beach around 2:00pm when they noticed a plume of black smoke.

A fire started in the garage of a large home on the hill with 11 people inside watching their relative playing soccer in the Olympics. The family dog started barking alerting the occupants, luckily all made it out safe and sound. No such luck for the house.

On lookers could not believe how lucky the entire resort was that the fire did not spread, thankfully the two lots on either side were vacant along with a rock garden lawn helping not spreading the flames.

Wow......

Monday, August 6, 2012

With the family away, squeezed in two after work bike rides. West on the 1A and Tour of Banff roads next, large 'bear jam' on the Sunshine Road w a black bear eating. No opportunity for pics as thankfully it was on a descent.
