Gorgeous days off!!

What a beautiful 3 days off.
Walked into town Saturday morning with Seth and Marnie, bumped into friends and had coffee and tasty blueberry scones at Wild Flour. Into Canmore after to seek items for Mexico, had delicious Illy espresso at Mountain Mercato - highly recommend this cafe. Dinner and wine at Marn's parents to finish the day.
Sunday, went for my first outside road ride of the year. Keith and I met up with 4 guys who rode in from Canmore and proceeded West on the 1A. Group split up by "two trees" and regrouped at Castle Junction. Robbie, Keith and I rode onto Lake Louise - burn burn. Americano and a date square later and back to Banff, burn burn burning legs.
Not bad, 120km's for first ride of the year - and one of the fastest rides to the Lake and back - good job pulling boys. Body held up considering had not been on a bike longer than 1 hour all winter.
Robbie was laughing at my 'less is more plan" and that it seems to be working as I felt great out there....especially on the climbs.
I had been waiting 5 months for that day...the 1A is such a beauty ride with those views and climbs, appreciate every day I am out.
Monday brought a morning walk with Seth to town. We then hooked up the bike attachment for the Chariot and rode with Seth for the first time out to Vermillion Lakes. Great for both of us to be on the bikes together and to pull Seth along...grunt up the hill going home...ass was hurting from day before as well.
We then sat on our deck for 2 hours soaking up the sun, burnt my forehead actually.
Back at work today for 3 days, then 16 days off!!! Marriage and Mexico :)

Inspirational pic

A great pic to give us some inspiration for the upcoming season.

+10 this weekend, hope to get out and play on the road bikes.

Couple pics from nephew Coleman's first birthday..and big brother stuffed from too much cake. As well as my mom and dad with seth...and seth napping....how cute is he!!

Its been a while

It has been over 4 months since my last post. This winter has been a different one for us...with our new addition and all. Can't believe Seth is already 4.5 months old.
We have been out cross country skiing pulling Seth along 10 times or so..killer workouts!!

I am on the "less is more plan" with cycling. I have attended the Friday night RMCC spin classes which have been killer..thanx Gary. I then do intervals on the trainer at home on a day off. So all up only 2 hrs / week, but have seen results as we rode outside around Minnewanka and Tunnel last week and felt good....good job Keith on pulling with the single speed...blow a gasket much? I guess riding up the hill to work 5 days a week all winter has helped me as well.

I will only race a handful of times this summer.....as the family will be spending time together out hiking etc. Hope to hit the Bicisport TT end of April. Banff Bike Fest will be epic...especially if Parks approves Highway 93 hill climb and the 1A race!! 24 hrs should be fun with our team again, while Bow 80 is calling again...too bad RMCC cross race is same day.

We are finally getting married April 11th in Banff, off to Mexico April 15th for 1 week. :)
