Signed up for http://www.canmorewintermeltdown.com/   for shits and giggles.
Have not done much in the past 2 weeks activity wise but will be a fun course with nothing to loose at all except time in the x country to the crazy euro's  out there.

Seth is signed up for ski lessons this week with Aidan and Cooper at Norquay. Dropped Seth off this morning where I had a quick 1hr ski with laps on N. American chair....couple cm's of fresh to cover past tracks.

All over the map last 2 weeks with work schedule and general daily life, obviously interfering with trying to keep active but it's all good. Rest is more favorable than one thinks sometimes.

Sounds like a few friends are going to be having fun April 14th in this  http://wcroubaix.blogspot.ca/, think I may have to join them for some laughs and HR explosion.

298 km Milan-San Remo

Cancellera pulling for 99% of the last 7km's only to be taken at the line.

No shortage of arm chair critics analizing his tactics or lack of....him wanting to keep pulling for the peleton not to engulf the three of them. Too bad the other two could not match his pulls.....hence Cancellera not having the legs for the final 20m sprint.

Quoted as saying " I had lactic acid pouring out of my ears".
Posted about Svein Tuft with his savage pulls, Cancellera in same boat.

Suffering much?

Gerrans hanging on for dear life

Main difference with road and mtn biking, the strongest does not always win in road but usually in mountain biking....all about tactics....good on Gerrans for playing it smart!

Just posted about the stage but found another article, hard not to become hungry/inspired to race after seeing his effort.

GOSS: “It was disappointing not to do the sprint because Svein Tuft rode on the front pretty much for 210km and other guys rode in the top ten places all day. It’s a pity that people took some crazy risks that are not necessary.”

On the front

And again

Buying a TT frame off Robbie Reid, why I am as will not be racing this year...too good a deal to pass up....maybe next year. Will beat rigging the road bike with clip on bars with reversing the seat post. Try to get dialed into a position like Jack Bobridge, future Cancellera.

With races axed this summer, was hoping to have some shits and giggles going in the   http://www.canmorewintermeltdown.com/ for fun.

But have not x country skied for 3 weeks now being busy with new job and family. Should go in for kicks, will get spanked in the x country part but try to make it up with on the bike and run??? We'll see, decide a few days out to go in or not.

Winter wonderland in town last 2 days, with the last 24hrs laying a solid 30+ cms. Have honestly not seen it snow so hard in town for several years. From the time we arrived at Marnie's mom's for dinner at 5:30pm, easily 15cms in her driveway by 8:30pm.

Back deck

Another busy day in the life,

7am       On trainer in the basement

8:45am  Marnie off to yoga

11am     Take the boys swimming while Marn catches up on items

1pm        Home for lunch

1:45pm   Seth and I going skiing at Norquay, his first time plowing through that much snow. Ski Patrol had bombed the top of Herman's bowl sending a slide all the way past right side run of Cascade chair. Scary seeing the destruction left behind, Seth could not believe all the number of dismantled trees and debris laying all over.

4pm        Home, Marn takes kids for walk in the Chariot, I go for a casual run.

5:30pm   To Marn's mom for dinner and drinks

Reality has unfortunately kicked in recently meaning ALL plans/biking goals have been turned up side down.

A combination of several things: a new job started 2 weeks ago, Marnie going back to work full time starting May 1st, not putting the boys in Day Care = no free time = zero racing this summer.

Hope to maybe fit in Banff Bike Fest but who knows?

An extremely hard pill to swallow especially after getting into decent shape so far this winter, oh well that is life.
