An entertaining ride with Colin today out to Marble Canyon and back to Banff. The sun proved the weather forecast wrong turning into a beauty day with no traffic on the roads. Hwy 93S views are hard to top anywhere.

Leaving town on Vermillion Lakes road we came across the moma grizzly & and her 3 cubs right on the side of the road while seeing a large black bear on the 1A, no time to take pics.

During the ride Colin casually mentions he climbed with Greg Child yesterday, a 'mellow' trad route up the Tower of Babel off Moraine Lake.
I replied WTF you climbed with Greg Child! That is like playing hockey with Gretzky or golfing with Nicklaus.
Turns out Greg is in town for a few weeks seeing his lady in Banff, this lady works with Colin's wife so hence the hook up.
Colin said it was surreal climbing with him, all the time thinking 'is this happening right now'.
Wow buddy!

What gives Greg such esteemed recognition I wonder? Well, for starters, the Australian-born rock-climber, mountaineer, author and Emmy award-winning filmmaker who’s been obsessed with the big climbs for some 30 years, was one of the early pioneers of rock-climbing in Australia, has made ascents of no less thanK2Mt. Everest and Gasherbrum IV among many other, and led first ascents in areas such as Baffin Island and Yosemite.

Seth back and forth daily with & without training wheels

Focused

Cory and Yuki's wedding was a beauty. Two Jack lake was an ideal backdrop for the ceremony. A solid 150-200 people at their house / neighborhood for the party and food which included Yuki's trays of Sushi, Chris' smoked ribs to homemade venison stew.

Handsdown highlight was Kim getting a hold of Tim Hus to come out to Banff and put on a show for the newlyweds, the two of them flipped out when he came out...being the fans they are. Tim belted out 3 sets on the front lawn, story book!

Great to catch up with everyone, had been years for some. Thanx Christie for watching the boys so mom and dad could stay out.

Will be quite the old school reunion this weekend with friends coming to town ranging from Nova Scotia to Victoria.

One of the first guys I met upon arriving to Banff is moving back to the east coast in 2 weeks. Not only are they moving but Cory and Yuyki are getting married this Sunday to top it off, should be an entertaining weekend.

Good times, our wedding in Mexico

Spent our last 2 weekends down at Little Bow. Was supposed to be just Canada day long weekend but made it down for Jack's 'Potman' family reunion as well. All sorts showed up from Vancouver and area for the gathering. 30+ degree weather with no shortage of water toys, tasty food, day time drinking along with a fun crew made for non stop laughs.
