Devon Kerhaw 2nd gold in 2 weeks!
Should have told the Russian 'it ain't over till ts over'     gave the fist pump 10 feet too early

Devon's kick finish is something in itself but watch all the finishers come through and completely keel over in utter exhaustion

Beauty bluebird afternoon at Norquay today, felt like mid April. Quite busy with Family Day holiday but spreads out nicely up there. Seth is crazier each day while absolutely loving it, after each run "again again".
Ran into https://twitter.com/#!/soldbyrichard who was up with his 2 boys. A whole slew of other Bow Valley families up there to catch up with.

Surprise surprise http://www.corywallace.com/   wins the  http://www.epicrides.com/index.php?contentCat=5 .....with 290+ miles

Winner of last year's http://www.banfflakelouise.com/Area-Events/Festivals/Summer/Banff-National-Park-Bike-Fest  Will Routley takes a 3rd place after being in a break that left only 3km's in  http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/vuelta-a-andalucia-ruta-ciclista-del-sol-2012/stage-1/results
Can you imagine lining up with the likes of Oscar Friere and Frank Schlek?!

Brought Seth and his buddy Cooper up to Norquay yesterday after playschool. Marnie and I took turns  with Rory tobogganing and playing in and around the snow fort.
Gorgeous blue sky afternoon in the + temps, story of the week.

Excited boys

Spray Loop is back in action after the recent snow fall and cooler temps, great to see as it has been a skating rink for a month. Spur of the moment ski this afternoon out there on fresh groomed cord. Was about 3 minutes from Goat Cr parking lot when I crested a hill to come across 2 massive female moose standing on the trail....almost s#%^$ myself in surprise. With one of them staring me down not impressed with my presence I hung a 180 back to Banff.

Big Brian Cooke came by in the opposite direction on his mountain bike, guy is a giant on a bike. Sure that was the ride he took Cory W and Leighton last weekend.

Legend was in town

Great to see Leighton has picked up a deal with Santa Cruz, good on him!

Colin's ski objectives for the weekend, on teli's.

Saturday jaunt down Aemmer Coulior Mt Temple - left side of mtn

Sunday SW face Mt Storm

He is prepping for a month long ski trip to Kashmir/Gulmarg India in March...sooo jealous.

Chatting about his craziest line which was a 1st descent (confirmed by Louise ski patrol who watched him) down S Face of Pika Peak. Take a look a this face next time skiing at Lake Louise, you will shit yourself seeing the exposure! 100% if you fall adios,  line is middle/right in photo.

Mom and Dad spent the night in town after winning a stay at Brewster Lodge from a friendly Geo Cache competition during Banff Snow Days. They shared their fondness for Geo Caching with Seth this morning. Seth was so fired up when he found the boxes..even more so when opening them finding the trinkets inside.

What beauty bluebird days this week, scenery like this confirms how lucky we are to live where we do.

Juggling life today

8:30am
Marn goes to yoga while I walk with the boys in the Chariot to town and drop Seth off at playschool. I proceed for a 1 hr jog with Rory while he slept.

10:00am
Meet Marn, shop at Safeway

11:00am
Pick Seth up from playschool

11:30am
Off to Banff Springs Hotel for a family swim, own private spa there mid week.

1:30pm
Seth and I head to Norquay for a ski, Rory sleeps at home while Marn catches up on items

4:00pm
Seth and I are back home, my parents show up at 5:00pm for dinner with Marn's mom and Jack as well. Delicious Athena Pizza with rums and wine topped a $ day.

Thought this was a solid day. This 13.5 hr one on the Icefields Parkway by Cory and Leighton was epic ...awesome boys!

What to do tomorrow?

Another 3 days OFF work this week, love all the long weekends as of late dipping into all my vacation time owed.

Marn went to a yoga class first thing this morning while I took the boys for a walk. Afterwards all went up to Norquay for Seth and Aidan's lessons, they are too cute together

Marn took Rory between her legs for the 1st time down the magic carpet

2 Bow Valley skiers taking World Cup wins yesterday, with Canadians 3rd and 5th in Chamonix as well. Kershaw and Jan Hudec have been through so much in their careers, well deserved World Cup wins to say the least! Looks like Jan will not have to rely on just the Grizzly House as his only sponsor now. His dad must be through the roof, used to work with him at the golf course.

Jealous, bike racing has begun for some Albertan's in Chile and the U.S.

http://bikingbakke.blogspot.com/ just completed the 6 day   www.transandeschallenge.com

http://dalrock.blogspot.com/  to Florida for a 24hr mtn bike race this month

http://www.corywallace.com/ headed to Arizona for the Kona 24hrs race this month

Damn  24 hr mtn bike races in February, what a start to the season!

The ABA calendar is out, one can literally be racing every other weekend between road and mtn bikes. Noticed our club is hosting a road race mid July, excited to find out the course.
And hear a RBC Banff Fondo is 99% confirmed. Start will be up and around Surprise corner, talk about blowing the field apart in the first 3 minutes. Then around Tunnel road to Minnewanka Loop, Hwy 1 to 1A proceeding to Lake Louise and back to Banff - 150 odd km's...will be epic/

Bumped into madman Eric J who mentioned he is heading to the Mt. Hood race in June. Rough timing as it finishes 3 days before Banff Bike Fest but Mt. Hood seems one for the books that cannot pass up. Love to go but not taking 1 week off work and family....unless we win Lotto Max this week :)
