Indian Summer in the Rockies
We have had a beautiful September for the most part, most consistent days of sunshine all summer.
On Saturday Sept 27th, Chris and I ditched work early and bee lined it to Silver Tip for a round. Spur of the moment phone call as a joke turned into "can you be here in 1 hour". Arrived in time to hit 5 balls on the range and off to the tee box. Ended up not being paired up with anybody so turned into one of the funnest rounds of my life. Bluebird afternoon with a tonne of laughs ended up with a 74. Not bad for my first 18 holes of the year. Great way to start my weekend!
Hiked up to Larch Valley the next day with Marn, her mom, Jack and Big Al and her doggy Shea (spelling)? We were 5 out of 1,000 people on the trail. The hike is one of the better values in the Rockies as one is out of the tree line within 45 minutes and into the most amazing setting of golden larch trees anywhere. Throw in the Valley of the 10 Peaks as background and no wonder why there are hundreds of people around. Beautiful bluebird day with friends and family.
Returned to our house to complete sanding our deck, completed it for the most part until Jack's sander finally died. We stained the remaining deck and it looks amazing now.
Monday saw me heading to Radium for our staff golf tourney. Left Banff early to meet up with Dad and Grandma in Radium for a coffee. Grandma was in Fairmont for a few days so it was nice to catch up with her as you never know how many more times it will be.
The Tourney was a blast, bluebird day in the mid 20's. Somehow pulled 1 st place considering 2 of our girl team mates had barely picked up a club before.
I left right after to make it back for our first Pre Natal class in Canmore. Very relaxed atmosphere with a gentle, mellow teacher. Learned a lot about anything and everthing about baby land, did not need to know the people take the Placenta home and eat it...what??barf!!!
Great days off!!
